Welcome to school! I hope you had a relaxing break and feel refreshed and ready to learn. I'm exited to be teaching English & Language Arts and everything that it encompasses to eighth graders at Corte Madera School.  Believe it or not, eighth grade is a dynamic time in your life; there is a lot to be learned about yoursef, your peers, life, and the world in which you live. Personally, I believe that English class is a fun and interesing vehicle for that learning.  In order to make the most of it, you will need the following supplies for a class on a daily basis:

a. a one-and one-half (1.5") or two (2") inch three-ring binder with seven divider pages

b. 50-100 sheets of lined composistion paper in the last section of your binder

c. Pens with black or blue ink or pencils (whichever you prefer)

d. White-out or erasers, for making corrections

e. a highlighter or two

f. your homework assignment notebook.

Please note that you will not need a lined, spiral notebook for this class.

Your work in English will be graded using the following scale:

Homework = 10%

Quizzes = 20%

Projects = 30%

Tests = 40%

In order to maintain the high personal, community, and academic standards at Corte Madera School, I will hold you to the highest behavioral expectation of them all: respect! If you have any questions, please be sure to ask me right away. I am looking forward to great year!
